1.7 million flowers to be planted in Kharkiv this year

About 1.7 million flowers are planned to be planted in the City of Kharkiv in 2024.
According to Dmytro Pozdeyev, Director of Specialised Municipal Enterprise Kharkivzelenbud, about 1.2 million flowers are currently grown in the company's greenhouses, and the rest will have to be purchased.
According to him, in order to save money, the flowerbeds will be decorated with 700-800 thousand fewer flowers than in the pre-war period. They will be planted, in particular, in the Shevchenko Garden, near the Mirror Stream, and in the central parks of the City's districts.
"There will be fewer of them than before the war, but we will do it. There are a lot of people in the central part of Kharkiv and other districts who need psychological relief. One of the ways to get it is to have a rest in our parks and squares, so they should be well maintained," said Dmytro Pozdeyev.
He also informed that spring works have already started in Kharkiv parks and squares. In particular, in the Shevchenko Garden, the utility company will soon paint the bins and benches, clean the fountain, etc.
