About 160,000 Kharkiv residents have been left homeless as a result of shelling by the Russian aggressor.
This was reported to journalists by Mayor Igor Terekhov. In particular, many private houses were damaged by the latest shelling.
According to the mayor, Kharkiv residents hope that their homes will be restored in the near future. That is why the city authorities are already actively working to attract investment.
Ihor Terekhov said that in June he plans to take part in the International Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine. And some of the investment projects he intends to present there need to be implemented now, without waiting for the war to end. This primarily concerns the restoration of energy infrastructure.
At the same time, the mayor noted that the city government is also looking for investors for projects that will be implemented in the postwar period (for example, the construction of industrial and scientific parks).
“This is very painstaking work. Designing, calculations, economic balance... If we start doing this only after the war is over, we will lose a lot of time. That is why we need to demonstrate our advantages and capabilities to investors right now,” emphasized Igor Terekhov.
