The budget of the Kharkiv city territorial community will reimburse the costs of burying Kharkiv residents who died as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation in city cemeteries.
Today, on July 2, at an extraordinary session of the city council, the deputies approved the Program for organizing free burial of the fallen (deceased) military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, as well as civilians killed (deceased) as a result of enemy shelling and destruction caused by the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine for 2024-2027.
According to the Department of Housing and Communal Services, in the first half of 2024, 298 people were buried in Kharkiv as a result of Russia's armed aggression, including 77 civilians. Given the scale of destruction of Kharkiv's housing stock and infrastructure as a result of ongoing hostile shelling, there is a need to organize free burials for these categories of the population.
The city budget will reimburse the actual costs of the funeral services specified in the program, but in the amount of no more than three subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons.
