An exhibition of children's drawings opened in the Kharkiv subway

An exhibition of children's drawings titled “Children for Peace” on the occasion of the International Children's Day was opened today, May 31, in the lobby of the Constitution Square metro station.

More than 500 young Kharkiv residents who are staying in the city took part in the city event. The works of more than 2 thousand more participants, who now live in other cities or abroad, are presented in the telegram channel “Kharkiv Inspires”.

The organizers of the event - the Department of Education, the Department of Culture, the Department of Family, Youth and Sports - invited children to draw pictures on a free theme, but almost all the works were dedicated to the theme of peace and support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During his visit to the exhibition, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov noted that the exhibition area featured more than 100 of the best works by schoolchildren.

“Earlier, before the war, such drawings depicted only good children's emotions, green parks and squares, smiling people. But, unfortunately, today is different, and, accordingly, the drawings are completely different. They reflect our real, busy lives. The children are very worried, and through their works they convey a message to the world and ask to give them the opportunity to live again under a peaceful sky. And all those who can influence the situation should help the kids make this simple dream of living in safety a reality,” said Igor Terekhov.
