In July air raid alert in Kharkiv lasted more than 26 days

The air alert in Kharkiv lasted for 637 hours and 25 minutes in July, which is 26,5 days.

This was reported today, 1 August, by the Department of Emergency Situations.

«An analysis of alarms and their causes in Kharkiv region showed that a real threat to the city was recorded 70 times in July. However, the alarms often lasted for a day or even two. That is why the issue of distinguishing between alarms is extremely relevant. By December 2024, a local automated system of centralised public notification should be introduced in Kharkiv. It provides, among other things, for the differentiation of messages about threats from the Russian Federation. When a MIG-31K with a potential Kinzhal missile carrier is in the sky, the alarm goes off all over Ukraine. However, in the case of CABs, the number of alarms can be much lower», - the department noted.

The Situation Centre of the city of Kharkiv provides round-the-clock monitoring and analysis of the operational situation, including military threats. Constant communication with the State Emergency Service, patrol police and other services ensures prompt response to emergencies in the city.
