Re-examination will be carried out in the building on Metrostroiteley Street

Today, on 14 December, Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov met with the residents of the building at 10 Metrostroitelnykiv Street to discuss the future of the building.

The building has been hit three times since 2022. The last attack with an Iskander missile destroyed one of the entrances.

After that, an expert examination was carried out, according to which the building was declared an emergency and subject to dismantling. However, some of the residents are against this and insist on preserving at least one less damaged section of the high-rise.

Ihor Terekhov stressed that the decision to demolish unsafe buildings is made solely on the basis of independent experts' opinions.

‘The residents want to save the house, and I understand them. We have agreed to re-examine the technical condition of the building. The residents themselves will be involved in the process so that they can see the transparency and objectivity of the assessment. Only then will the final decision be made on whether to restore the building or dismantle it,’ the mayor said.

According to the mayor, the re-examination will consist of a technical assessment and economic analysis of the feasibility of restoring the building, and upon its completion, a decision will be made to dismantle or restore the building.
