Odesa to support military in Kharkiv sector

At the beginning of the plenary session, Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov addressed the deputies of the Odesa City Council. He thanked the citizens of Odesa for their humanitarian support of Kharkiv throughout the war and emphasized the importance of helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

"We transfer funds to our military units every day because the situation at the front is extremely difficult. On May 10, the enemy launched a new offensive in the Kharkiv region, and now our glorious defenders are holding back the enemy at the cost of their health and lives and preventing it from advancing further into the region. I am well aware that Odesa is also experiencing a lot of grief and losses due to Russia's terrorist actions, so I am very grateful to all of you, Odesa residents, for this crucial assistance to our soldiers. This is the only way we can win, if we are united," the mayor of Kharkiv said in his speech. 

According to Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov, the funds will be allocated to the military from the city budget. In addition, at the request of Igor Terekhov, Odesa is preparing places to accommodate evacuees from Kharkiv region. 

"When we saw the situation in the Kharkiv region, in Kharkiv itself - a city close to us - we could not stand aside. We gathered our deputy factions, discussed the possibilities of our budget and offered to help. I contacted Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and the commander of the Kharkiv Operational and Tactical Group of Troops Mykhailo Drapaty and offered our assistance," said the head of Odesa.
