Ihor Terekhov: We must develop a programme to support fighters returning from the frontline

Mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov today, on the 13th of December, took part in the regional forum "Power. Defenders. Future", dedicated to the implementation of veteran policy in the region.
The Mayor noted that Kharkiv started to implement programmes to support the families of military and combatants back in 2015. In particular, he said, it concerns cooperation with veteran public organisations and material payments to the defenders.
"We are constantly working in this direction. It is very important for us that our warriors can freely receive any services in education and medicine, that they can get a job, that the City is accessible and open to them. And this, among other things, is the issue of rehabilitation of the military - both physical, when it comes to those who return with disabilities, and psychological. Therefore, we all need to create a unified targeted programme for the implementation of veteran policy, to share practices and experience that Kharkiv and the region already have", said Ihor Terekhov.
