Ihor Terekhov: Despite the events in the region, calm reigns in Kharkiv
Despite the fact that the Russian aggressor has become more active in the border areas of Kharkiv region, the situation in Kharkiv itself remains calm.
Mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov stated it to the journalists today, on May 12.
“Despite all the events that are taking place in the region, calm reigns in Kharkiv. We do not see people leaving. There is no hype. Kharkiv residents are calmly walking the streets, doing their own things,” the Mayor said.
Ihor Terekhov also noted that the Defense Council of Kharkiv Region has decided to evacuate residents of only those districts of the region where active hostilities are taking place. There are no prerequisites for evacuation from Kharkiv itself.
“From the first day of the full-scale invasion, I have been saying that it is up to everyone to decide whether to leave the city or not. I have been in Kharkiv all the time and will stay until we win!” emphasized Ihor Terekhov.
