Igor Terekhov: The entire ensemble of Freedom Square needs UNESCO protection

The city authorities are actively working to inscribe the entire architectural ensemble of Freedom Square on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Today, on 5 November, during a national telethon, Mayor Igor Terekhov said that Kharkiv is counting on UNESCO to help restore the damaged State Industry building.
‘In addition, we have contacted the Warsaw City Hall, and they also promise to provide assistance, including financial, to attract experts. We need to make a certain dossier so that not only the Derzhprom building but also the entire Freedom Square ensemble is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and protected. This is very important. Then the whole world will react to the shelling in a completely different way,’ said Igor Terekhov.
