Igor Terekhov: Kharkiv is an outpost of Ukraine!
Kharkiv, despite the daily terror from the Russian Federation, remains a symbol and outpost of Ukraine.
Mayor Igor Terekhov said this in an interview with the UN News Service.
«There are no words to describe the grief that the Russians are bringing us. This is real terrorism. It is important that the whole world knows what is happening in Kharkiv today. We need support not only in words but also in actions», - the mayor emphasized.
Igor Terekhov said that thanks to international funds, many citizens are receiving help. Not only Kharkiv residents whose houses were damaged or destroyed by shelling, but also residents of the border areas who were forced to evacuate.
«Since the beginning of the war, about 9,000 buildings, mostly residential, have been destroyed in Kharkiv. 110 kindergartens, 130 schools (about half of the educational institutions), 88 medical institutions were damaged. The destruction in our city is enormous. Kharkiv needs protection so that people can feel safe», - the mayor emphasized.
