Ihor Terekhov: Russians are trying to intimidate Kharkiv citizens
The main purpose of the enemy's shelling of residential areas in Kharkiv is to intimidate the civilian population.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov told journalists about this today, 24 April. According to him, the enemy is hitting residential buildings to force their residents to leave Kharkiv.
‘Chaotic shelling like the one that happened tonight proves that the russians want to intimidate us. In 2022, they already attacked these places in the Shevchenkivskyi district because they believed that the military or law enforcement officers were there. But both then and now, there were only civilians there,’ the mayor said.
Ihor Terekhov also noted that the President, the Government and international partners are working to strengthen the air defence system to help protect Kharkiv. At the same time, he stated that the city authorities are ready to restore the infrastructure destroyed by the aggressor country without waiting for the war to end.
