Igor Terekhov: Kharkiv needs about 10 billion euros to rebuild

The damage caused to Kharkiv by the Russian aggressor amounts to about €10 billion.

This was announced today, 22 November, on the air of the national telethon by Mayor Igor Terekhov.

The mayor noted that this amount, which is only increasing with each shelling, is unbearable for the city budget, so Kharkiv is already looking for sources of funding for future reconstruction.

Igor Terekhov reminded that recently a presentation of Kharkiv's economic strategy was held, which was developed by leading national and international experts, including professors from Oxford and Harvard Universities.

‘We have a specific action plan and are already starting to work with domestic and foreign investors, international foundations and financial institutions to make Kharkiv the most modern city after peace comes,’ said Igor Terekhov.

As a reminder, Kharkiv's economic development strategy consists of several main areas: support for human capital through educational and innovative projects, a balanced distribution of investments between industry, agriculture and technology, legislative reform to attract investors, greening the city and implementing energy-efficient solutions, as well as cooperation with international partners, taking into account the needs of local businesses in rebuilding Kharkiv.
