Igor Terekhov: This year 57 educational institutions will be restored in Kharkiv

Today, on 30 January, Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov took part in a meeting of the Regional Office for International Cooperation in Kharkiv Region.
The participants of the event discussed how to improve cooperation between state authorities, municipalities and international organisations that carry out reconstruction work in damaged buildings.
Igor Terekhov noted that Kharkiv has suffered enormous damage. In particular, 65% of healthcare facilities, 56% of educational institutions and 35% of cultural institutions in the city have been damaged as a result of russian aggression.
«In addition to thousands of residential buildings, medical, educational and cultural institutions have been severely damaged. But thanks to your support, government subsidies, and the help of our Western partners, we are restoring them step by step and have ambitious plans for this year. In 2024, we aim to restore 57 schools that have been damaged to varying degrees and another 157 multi-storey buildings. In total, the damage caused to the city of Kharkiv, including the latest shelling, has already reached USD 10 billion», - the mayor said.
