Igor Terekhov: Young people will be the driving force in Kharkiv's recovery

During a meeting with students, Mayor Igor Terekhov answered questions about how the younger generation can contribute to the reconstruction of Kharkiv.

The mayor outlined the priority areas of work and stressed the importance of active participation of young people in the recovery process. According to him, young people have every chance to become a driving force for change in Kharkiv by offering their vision of the city's development, initiating projects and joining existing programmes.

‘Kharkiv is a city that lives with emotions. Young people are what give us energy and creativity. We have already launched several interesting initiatives, including a competition to restore North Saltovka in cooperation with the Norman Foster Foundation. About 300 teams from all over the world took part in it. And by the way, the third place in this competition went to a team of students studying at a Turkish university. This is an extremely important experience. The young architects competed not only for victory but also for a chance to influence the future of our city. You have many opportunities to join this process: create projects, become volunteers, participate in our programmes,’ said Igor Terekhov.
