Cleanup continues in Kharkiv after nighttime shelling

Utility services are dealing with the aftermath of the Russian aggressor's combined attack on the city of Kharkiv, which took place on the night of June 5.

As Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported on national television, a total of 18 people were injured, including four children. All of the victims are suffering from acute stress reaction.

First, the enemy launched a missile strike on a civilian infrastructure facility, and then carried out a massive attack with drones. In particular, two high-rise buildings were hit. One of them caught fire, destroying the roof and technical floor.

“In the other, a drone engine hit the second floor. The residents of the apartment miraculously survived. Our utility services worked all night to repair the damage caused by the shelling. Power, water supply, and sewage systems have already been restored. We are currently working on restoring gas supply in one of the buildings. We are also closing the contours and inspecting the roofs. We are doing everything possible to eliminate the consequences of the attack as quickly as possible,” the mayor said.

He also announced that a mobile administrative service center will begin operating at 11:00 a.m., where owners of damaged homes will be able to apply for state assistance under the ‘eRecovery’ program.
