City Council signs memorandum with the Academy of Legal Sciences

The purpose of the memorandum is to ensure that the parties work together to address the urgent problems of the city's vital activity, protect human rights and freedoms under martial law and in the post-war period. 

‘We are at war, and we face serious challenges. Today it is very important that the legal assessment of each case of war crimes is provided by experts. Together, we will be able to work effectively on urgent issues, no matter how difficult they may be. I am grateful for the support of the cooperation initiative!’ said Igor Terekhov. 

For his part, Volodymyr Zhuravel stressed that the Academy and the city authorities have always successfully implemented joint projects. He emphasised that Kharkiv has been, is and will be the legal capital of Ukraine thanks to its universities, and the signed memorandum will help maintain and improve the level of the law school in the city.
