Solar power plant installed in children's hospital

A 30 kW solar power plant was opened today, 19 July, at a children's hospital in Kharkiv.

The power plant is equipped with a backup power supply system, which will ensure uninterrupted power supply in the palliative and rehabilitation departments, as well as in the neurological hospital, even at night.

Mayor Igor Terekhov noted that such equipment is extremely important for Kharkiv, which lost its own power generation as a result of enemy shelling.

‘We have already had experience of installing solar panels at the 17th hospital. Thanks to this, despite the power cuts, the medical facility is provided with a constant power supply. The equipment provided by our international partners this time will ensure a stable power supply to the children's hospital. I am grateful for this support and hope for similar cooperation in other medical institutions,’ said Igor Terekhov.

The project was implemented by the RePower Ukraine charity foundation. Scottish schoolchildren, among others, joined in the fundraising.
