Events dedicated to World Haemophilia Day held in Kharkiv

On the occasion of World Haemophilia Day, which is celebrated today, 17 April, a number of events for patients have been organised at the City Clinical Children's Hospital No. 16.
According to the Department of Healthcare, informative lectures and master classes were held by specialists from Kharkiv National Medical University, City Children's Polyclinic No. 23, and the hospital's physiotherapists. The young patients received gifts from Caritas Kharkiv and the Global 2000 for Children of Ukraine Charitable Foundation.
Haemophilia is a genetic disease associated with a deficiency of one of the blood clotting factors. There are 29 children with haemophilia in the Kharkiv Region 13 of whom are residents of Kharkiv. They are fully provided with medicines for both emergency therapy and preventive treatment. The medicines are provided at the expense of state funds and the funds of the Comprehensive Programme "Innovations in the Priority Areas of Healthcare Development in Kharkiv for 2011-2025".
