Ukrainians are urged to buy Ukrainian
At the initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the All-Ukrainian Economic Platform "Made in Ukraine" was created to draw the attention of citizens to Ukrainian producers.
The aim of this campaign is to stimulate business activity of Ukrainian producers, popularise and promote Ukrainian products, create economic conditions for the recovery, modernisation and growth of Ukraine's economy, and encourage citizens to return home.
According to research by the Ministry of Economy, 40% of the value of domestically produced goods purchased is returned to the budget. In addition, 25% of the cost of Ukrainian goods is spent on taxes and payments to the Pension Fund. Therefore, supporting Ukrainian producers will allow the state to allocate more funds for the army, pensions, social benefits, etc. It also significantly helps to stimulate the country's economy, particularly in times of war.
The Made in Ukraine economic platform has been in operation since 1 March. According to the Ministry of Economy, despite the financial support of international partners, Ukrainians need to have their own capacity to rebuild the country by creating new businesses, jobs, generating domestic income and reviving the economic system.
"By purchasing products from Ukrainian manufacturers, citizens not only directly support the country's economy, but also directly pay salaries to people working at enterprises, make it possible to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine (as almost all taxes during the invasion are directed to this purpose) and the functioning of hospitals, public spaces, etc.", the Ministry said.
According to estimates, the replacement of imported goods with domestic products will have a significant economic effect and potentially increase the wage bill by UAH 40 billion a year.
