Ihor Terekhov took part in an international conference on economic development

The international scientific conference ‘Economic Development and the Legacy of Semen Kuznets’ dedicated to the Nobel laureate was held today, 25 April, in Kharkiv.
The event was attended by Mayor Ihor Terekhov. The Mayor noted that Kharkiv's economy is going through hard times due to constant hostile shelling. However, the state and City authorities are actively working to support Kharkiv entrepreneurs who, despite frequent shelling and problems with electricity supply, remain in the City.
In particular, Ihor Terekhov said that the City Council will decide to cancel a number of taxes for local businesses (with further subventions from the state budget).
‘This means that both the City and state authorities understand what needs to be done today to keep people in Kharkiv. That is why I am grateful that you have not left the City, but continue to work and teach students. And I really hope that together we will create an economic model for the development of Kharkiv,’ said Ihor Terekhov addressing the conference participants.
The conference was attended by economists, representatives of academic, governmental and private structures. They presented the results of their research and shared their experience in the fields of economics, business, education and social sciences.
